BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.25 percent to 3,299.76 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.36 percent lower at 9,870.05 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.09 trillion yuan (about 151.23 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.04 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to the cement and transportation sectors were among the biggest winners, while those related to motorbike and media and entertainment are the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.82 percent to close at 1,928.43 points Tuesday. ■
