Heavy rain and high tide cause flooding across Phuket
Phuket has come under high water after several hours of consecutive rainfall, combined with high tide, while drainage was unable to keep up.
Several roads in this resort paradise were inundated though traffic was still passable.
In Patong Beach, Kathu district, flooding happened around the Kaimuk roundabout and in front of Marine Plaza Market.
Similarly, in Rawai subdistrict, Mueang Phuket district, inundation was reported at the Nai Harn three-way intersection.
Flood water was also high on Phra Phuket Kaew road, connecting Rassada subdistrict of Mueang district with Kathu district. Flooding was also reported in the Samkong underpass, where motorists had to exercise caution.
Traffic police were deployed to help ease congestion, particularly in front of schools.
