Thai air force on five minute scramble stand-by
The Royal Thai Air Force stated today that they have implemented standard readiness measures, amid rising tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border, and confirmed that their aircraft are able to scramble within five minutes if needed.
Commander in Chief, ACM Punpakdee Pattanakul, urged the public to trust the Thai armed forces, stating that they are fully prepared to defend the sovereignty of the nation.
Commenting on reports that the Cambodian Prime Minister promised bonuses to troops who shoot down Thai fighter jets, he said that operations would not escalate to that extent, as Thailand is not the aggressor.
“We are merely preparing for maximum efficiency in safeguarding national sovereignty,” he said.
