SCBX Joins MIT FinTechAI@CSAIL as Founding Member

SCB X Public Company Limited (SCBX) is proud to announce its role as a founding member of FinTechAI@CSAIL, a pioneering research initiative launched by the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This initiative, led by Professor Andrew W. Lo. aims to explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of global financial systems.

SCBX joins a distinguished group of founding members*. This collaboration underscores SCBX’s commitment to driving responsible AI innovation and contributing to the global dialogue on the future of finance.

Representing SCBX in this initiative is Mr. Kaweewut Temphuwapat, Chief Innovation Officer of SCBX and Chief Executive Officer of SCB 10X, who plays a pivotal role in shaping the group’s innovation strategy and research direction. His leadership bridges the gap between deep technology research and real-world financial applications.

The partnership will foster deeper collaboration between MIT CSAIL researchers and the SCBX R&D and Innovation Lab, focusing on applying AI to real-world financial systems. The initiative emphasizes co-developing ideas with industry stakeholders to ensure impactful, inclusive, and sustainable outcomes.

FinTechAI@CSAIL will focus on five key research areas:

1. AI models, Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI Deployment – Investigating LLM explainability, customization, regulatory alignment, and controllability for institutional deployment.

2. Agentic and Autonomous AI Systems – agent-to-agent trust frameworks for future finance, and workforce productivity transformations.

3. Cybersecurity and Synthetic Data – Examining secure computation, synthetic data utility, and provenance for AI-generated content.

4. Developer Productivity – Assessing AI's impact on legacy system migration and future software development productivity.

5. Financial Infrastructure and Public Trust – Evaluating decentralized financial frameworks, user data consent, and equitable access in AI.

This initiative reflects a shared urgency among global financial institutions to adopt AI in a thoughtful, ethical, and human-centered manner. As the financial industry rapidly evolves, SCBX remains committed to shaping the future of finance through innovation, collaboration, and responsible technology development.
