A night to remember: Beaureguards hosts an intimate VIP dinner at Rosewood Hong Kong
On January 18, the private dining room of The Legacy House at the Rosewood Hong Kong transformed into a cinematic reverie, as Kim Bui Kollar and Kelly Wong—the co-founders of Beaureguards, a luxury travel retail concept rooted in curating the best of life, from timeless souvenirs to stylish essentials—hosted an intimate dinner honouring two designers: Ian Hylton, CEO of Ms Min; and Cheryl Leung, founder and creative director of Sau Lee, both of whom draw inspiration from Chinese dress for their brands. This exclusive gathering, informally dubbed The Beaureguards Supper Club, brought together a VIP guest list to celebrate creativity and style ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Hylton and Leung, the evening’s guests of honour, share an ability to reinterpret Chinese heritage into modern fashion narratives. Guests were invited to don Sau Lee’s modern qipao dresses for the occasion, exuding glamour reminiscent of a bygone era, while Bui Kollar wore a silk wool suit from Hylton’s collection.
The dinner tables, each seating 12, were a feast for the eyes and palate, with Chinese cuisine served in coursed plates, designed to match the ambience of the night. Among the guests were some of the city’s most influential personalities: Victoria Tang-Owen and Christopher Owen, fashion royalty in their own right; entrepreneur Kevin Poon, accompanied by his wife, model Fiona McLeish; and Bui Kollar’s husband Thomas Kollar, managing partner at Mayer Brown. A surprise appearance by Eleanor Lam added to the celebratory energy of the evening.

Bui Kollar and Wong opened the evening with speeches, sharing what propelled the founding of Beaureguards—“It’s because we love travelling—and we love shopping,” Bui Kollar said. She also shared the story of how she and Wong met while working in fashion—Kollar as a fashion director for the Pedder Group in the mid-2010s, and Wong as fashion director at Lane Crawford. Their shared passion for style and travel laid the foundation for Beaureguards, she added. Hylton followed with a toast and recounted his serendipitous connections with Bui Kollar and Wong, which made the evening all the more meaningful.
The dinner wasn’t just a celebration of Hylton’s and Leung’s artistry; it was a convergence of old friends and new connections, where fashion, laughter and storytelling were the main courses. The Beaureguards Supper Club, much like its hosts, left an impression—a perfect prelude to the brand’s exciting future.
Beaureguards’ concept store is on the sixth floor of the Rosewood Hong Kong, with its online store launching this month.
As the evening ended, one thing was certain: Beaureguards isn’t just a brand; it’s a lifestyle—effortlessly chic and deeply personal.
