The New AP House at The Henderson Melds Swiss Valley and Bauhinia

Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has opened its latest AP House within The Henderson, spanning a 600-square-metre space in Central Hong Kong.

Done collaboratively by Studiossoo and the 150-year-old watch powerhouse, the 600-square-metre space weaves together the Swiss landscape of Vallée de Joux, where the brand started life, with a local touch, including design cues from Hong Kong's bauhinia flower that echo throughout the building's curved façade.

The journey through the space follows a natural flow, beginning with the watch gallery. Here, a sweeping travertine wall creates a dramatic backdrop for the timepiece collection. Moving inward, visitors discover the centrepiece Bamboo Bar, where towering bamboo stretches skyward in a contemporary nod to Chinese aesthetics. The greenery extends into various private lounges and dining spaces, all benefiting from floor-to-ceiling windows that capture stunning city views.

Tucked away behind the wine cellar, a speakeasy adds an unexpected twist to the shop. Its deep red interiors – a colour traditionally symbolising vitality in Chinese culture – stand in bold contrast to the venue's otherwise understated design. This intimate space doubles as a listening room, housing a carefully curated vinyl collection that reflects AP's long-standing connection with music and the arts.
