Louis Vuitton’s first make-up line, La Beauté, is finally here
Louis Vuitton is no stranger to expanding the definition of luxury. From trunks to travel accessories, ready-to-wear to fragrance, the French maison has always found ways to translate its heritage into new realms. Now, the house is embarking on its most glamorous journey yet with La Beauté Louis Vuitton, its first dedicated make-up line, with a powerhouse in the beauty world, Dame Pat McGrath DBE, as Creative Director.

La Beauté marks a significant moment for the brand. It’s more than just a product drop; it’s an expansion of Louis Vuitton’s vision of beauty as lifestyle, artistry, and personal expression.
A Legendary Collaboration

La Beauté is the definition of luxury
If anyone can steer a couture-level beauty line, it’s Pat McGrath. The British make-up artist has spent over three decades shaping the visual language of modern beauty, from her transformative runway looks to culture-defining editorial shoots. Her long-standing backstage collaborations with Louis Vuitton fashion shows now evolve into a permanent beauty universe.
“Luxury in make-up is about performance, craftsmanship, and sensoriality,” says McGrath. “It’s the fusion of artistry and technology, of heritage and innovation.”

LV Ombres is made for the eyes in shades that blend seamlessly
La Beauté Louis Vuitton debuts with an impressive LV Rouge lipstick collection of 55 shades—a nod to the Roman numerals for LV—split between 27 creamy satins and 28 plush mattes. Handpicked by Dame Pat McGrath, each hue is designed to flatter universally while embracing creative edge. Standout shades include 896 Monogram Rouge, a burnished red marrying the maison’s iconic canvas with a classic lip; 203 Rose Odyssée, a sienna rose symbolising individuality; and 854 Rouge Louis, a bold scarlet of timeless confidence.

Formulated with an 85% skincare base of shea butter, hyaluronic acid, and upcycled floral waxes, the lipsticks promise comfort and performance—12-hour wear for mattes, 24-hour hydration for satins—and are subtly scented by LV Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. For a softer touch, LV Baume offers 10 sheer glow shades with 48-hour hydration, from the burgundy-brown Monogram Touch to the delicate pink pearl of Tender Bliss.
Dame Pat McGrath and the La Beauté collection
For the eyes, LV Ombres introduces eight palettes, each blending three versatile, everyday tones with one unexpected statement hue—McGrath’s signature twist. Finishes include ultra-matte to high-shine glitter, using pure pigments, light-reflecting technology and skin-loving ingredients for seamless blending and vivid colour payoff. Together, these collections fuse couture-level artistry with modern wearability, offering beauty as bold or understated as the wearer desires.
Design Meets Sustainability
The La Beauté pouch
The maison's iconic trunks
Louis Vuitton enlisted industrial designer Konstantin Grcic to bring architectural precision to the line’s packaging. Inspired by the brass fittings of the maison’s iconic trunks, each piece is crafted from aluminium and brass for durability. Lipsticks and eyeshadows are fully refillable, transforming them from mere beauty products into heirloom-worthy objets.
“Wherever possible, we designed the products to be refillable rather than disposable,” says Grcic. “These are pieces meant to live with you, to be kept, treasured, and used again and again.”

An Homage to Legacy
The inside of the La Beauté Lip Trunk
While La Beauté is a new chapter for Louis Vuitton, beauty has long been part of its DNA. In the 1920s, the brand crafted bespoke vanity cases and travel-sized beauty objects for clients like soprano Marthe Chenal and composer Jan Paderewski. La Beauté channels that spirit of elegance and utility, reimagining it for the modern age. To honour that legacy, the launch includes an exceptional Vanity Trunk—part beauty station, part collectible—as well as small leather goods like lipstick pouches and Nice Beauty Cases.
A New Beauty Ritual

For Louis Vuitton, La Beauté isn’t just about make-up, it’s about creating a beauty ritual that’s as indulgent and enduring as the maison’s other creations. With Pat McGrath’s creative vision, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud’s touch and Konstantin Grcic’s design sensibility, this debut positions LV as a serious player in the luxury beauty market.
As McGrath puts it: “We’ve made something heirloom-worthy. Iconic. Bold. And unforgettable.”
La Beauté Louis Vuitton is available online and at Louis Vuitton Kuala Lumpur The Exchange TRX store from August 29.
