Chinese 3x3 Basketball League to kick off on Friday
SHANGHAI, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The 2025 Chinese 3x3 Basketball League is set to tip off on Friday, the organizing committee confirmed Thursday.
The league system, which encompasses the Chinese Men's 3x3 Basketball Super League, the Chinese Men's 3x3 Basketball Super League Satellite, and the Chinese Women's 3x3 Basketball League, is poised to build on last year's success and further its mission of growing the sport and cultivating elite talent.
Yang Yang, Vice President of the Chinese Basketball Association, highlighted the league's growing prestige. Yang stated that last season the league successfully attracted international stars, including former NBA players and Olympic gold medalists, which significantly enhanced its competitiveness and spectator appeal.
The investment has yielded clear results on the world stage. A national men's team composed of the Chinese Men's 3x3 Basketball Super League players made a historic run to a silver medal at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, underscoring the league's effectiveness as a talent pipeline.
The Chinese Men's 3x3 Basketball Super League will feature 19 teams competing over four months, from June 13th to October 19th. The regular season will retain its dynamic dual format, consisting of 25 regular stops held nationwide and four Mega-Stops hosted in Shanghai, Beijing, Zigui, and Zhangjiagang. ■
