Revival of Ancient Epic "Manas"

BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- "Manas" is a large-scale heroic epic with a rhyme style, handed down by the Kirgiz people from generation to generation. It is one of the three great heroic epics of Chinese ethnic minorities, along with "King Gesar" of the Tibetan ethnic group and "Jangar" of the Mongolian ethnic group.

Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized that much attention ought to be paid to the preservation and inheritance of cultures of ethnic minority groups.

Today, the inheritance of "Manas" has become more diversified, with an increasing number of enthusiasts and inheritors devoted to its development.
