BTS的RM因在近期演說中被指「偽善」而遭到大量批評。
日前，RM於2025年APEC企業領袖峰會上，以「APEC區域的文化與創意產業與K-Culture的軟實力」為題在文化論壇發表演說。
然而，當他的其中一段話被節錄、呼籲「為全世界的創作者伸出援手」時，卻在網路上引發了不小的反彈與撻伐。

RM在演說中向各國領袖傳達的訊息：「作為這個世代的創作者與藝術家，我想藉此機會向各位尊敬的APEC領袖提出一個請求。全世界各地都有創作者。請幫助他們。給予他們財務上的支持，讓他們的創意得以綻放。」
網友們翻出過去的片段，指稱RM曾以貶低其他團體為代價來誇耀BTS，特別是在強調團體「為亞洲藝人開路」時的說法。也有人批評RM的人格，並藉近期爭議（包括圍繞HYBE的IPO詐欺事件）來質疑、貶損他此次發言的正當性。
