Red Sugar guest shift series: Asia’s top 50 bartenders take over Kerry Hotel’s rooftop bar
Red Sugar, the rooftop bar at Kerry Hotel Hong Kong, unveils a week of refined indulgence with an exclusive guest shift series. From October 3 to 11, six of Asia’s most celebrated bartenders, drawn from the region’s Best 50 Bars list, will bring their craft and creativity to the city, pouring cocktails that showcase both heritage and innovation.
Peter Kwok on October 3–4The series begins with back-to-back shifts from Peter Kwok, DMBA’s 2021 Bartender of the Year (North). Known for weaving Chinese ingredients into modern mixology, Kwok’s creations are rich in cultural heritage while brimming with contemporary flair.
Volkan Ibil, The Back Room from Manila on October 6On October 6, Volkan Ibil of The Back Room, ranked #45 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2020, takes the stage. As head bartender of Shangri-La The Fort’s speakeasy-inspired cocktail lounge, Ibil has been behind some of its most iconic pours, delivering drinks with a signature Manila twist.

Wallace Lau and Jackie Ho on October 10On October 10, the spotlight falls on Hong Kong’s own Wallace Lau, MHD’s 2014 Bartender of the Year. He is joined by Jackie Ho, Disaronno Brand Ambassador and winner of the 2009 Diageo World Masters Beijing Cocktail Competition, who has since gone on to serve as a respected judge in the field. Together, the duo brings local star power and international acclaim to Red Sugar’s guest shift series.
Soko from Seoul on October 11The finale on October 11 at Red Sugar welcomes Seoul’s acclaimed bar Soko, most recently ranked #54 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 extended list. Two of Soko’s leading bartenders will showcase the bar’s signature flair. Think sharply tailored style, martini-shaking routines polished to theatrical perfection, and cocktails that embody Seoul’s cutting-edge bar culture.
Set against the sweeping views of Victoria Harbour, this remarkable series offers connoisseurs a chance to savour masterful cocktails and witness the artistry of some of the region’s most celebrated bartenders, all within one unforgettable week at Red Sugar.
