Inside a 1,500 sq.ft. Waterfront Dream in Pok Fu Lam

Tucked along Victoria Road in Pok Fu Lam, the Victoria Coast show flat is a bold reimagining of seaside living, where nature’s raw beauty crashes into polished design.

This 1,500-square-foot, three-bedroom stunner, dreamed up by Adapa Architects, perches between verdant hills and a sprawling ocean vista. The space channels the landscape, turning leaf patterns and water ripples into a vibe that’s equal parts calm and electric.

Designer Ada Leung says: “We drew inspiration from nature, integrating motifs of tree shadows and water ripples into the design. Soft tones and tactile textures resonate harmoniously with the surroundings, capturing the tranquil beauty of a sunset.”

Walk into the living room and you’re hit with floor-to-ceiling windows that drag the mountain-and-sea panorama right into your lap. The custom oak floor, laid out in hexagonal petal shapes with slick metal accents, screams understated cool. A walnut console by the door is a no-nonsense spot for keys and clutter. The room’s centrepiece is an L-shaped sofa aimed at the balcony, flanked by a sculptural lounge chair and a gutsy petal-shaped oak coffee table from Brazilian outfit Sollos.

It’s a setup that works for hosting a crowd or zoning out solo. “This solid oak coffee table serves as a focal point, complementing the sofa and chair to foster a cosy ambiance,” Leung notes. “Positioned toward the windows, it integrates the captivating mountain views into the room, making it ideal for conversations with loved ones or solitary reflection.”

The entrance, decked in light oak paneling with a sleek curve, nudges your gaze toward the dining area. The walls pop with brushstroke wallpaper, a wild backdrop for a hand-blown amber glass chandelier that glows like the last gasp of a sunset. It’s warm, it’s classy, it’s got swagger. “The soft orange chandelier symbolizes the warm hues of sunset, echoing the dynamic texture of the wallpaper and highlighting the unit’s mesmerizing ocean and sunset views,” she adds.

Behind the sofa, the study is a flex of form and function—full-height bookshelves mix two woods, marble, and leather for a tactile edge. A beefy wooden desk faces those big windows, letting you grind under natural light with the sea as your backdrop. It’s a home office that doesn’t feel like a cage. “The bookshelves are designed to display books and keepsakes, while a custom walnut and leather wine rack adds a touch of sophistication,” she adds. “The natural light and stunning vistas work in tandem to boost productivity and inspire creativity.”

The master bedroom is a straight-up sanctuary, with windows framing the sunset like a postcard. A custom marble-and-leather vanity faces the view, complete with a slide-out mirror and a quirky Aladdin-style lamp—useful, but with personality. The wardrobe melts into the background, wrapped in textured wallpaper that vibes with the curved, leather headboard for a soft, lived-in feel. Asymmetrical pendants, uplights, and bedside lamps dial up the zen for sleep. “We prioritized unobstructed window views, ensuring the vanity and wardrobe are both practical and elegant,” Leung explains. “The textures of the wallpaper and headboard add a soft, inviting quality.”

Every detail here is dialed in—the hexagonal floor’s golden ratio, the echo of textures between wardrobe doors and wallpaper. It’s all about design that doesn’t just sit pretty but lives with you.
