Repulse Bay, Choi Hung Estate and Victoria Park Tennis Courts, all reimagined through the lens of Wes Anderson.

The globally acclaimed Accidentally Wes Anderson (AWA) art project has officially arrived in Hong Kong, bringing its curated visual universe to two cultural landmarks: AIRSIDE and The Mills.

Running from now to 14 September, 2025, the exhibition marks the first time the project has been showcased in the city, following international stops in London, Tokyo, Seoul, and Los Angeles.

Known for capturing real-world moments that reflect Wes Anderson’s signature aesthetic – symmetry, pastel tones, and cinematic framing – AWA presents over 100 photographs contributed by its founders and global community.

The Hong Kong edition reimagining iconic local spots such as Repulse Bay, Choi Hung Estate, Victoria Park Tennis Courts, Po Lin Monastery, and more. These familiar locations are transformed through the lens of Anderson’s playful and precise visual storytelling, offering a fresh take on the city’s architectural and cultural landmarks.

The exhibition is divided into thematic zones such as "Hotel”, “Pool”, “Lighthouse” and more. Each section is carefully designed to mirror Anderson’s unique approach to colour, composition, and symmetry, paying homage to the whimsical, nostalgic charm that defines The Grand Budapest Hotel and The French Dispatch.

To complement the experience, a collection of Hong Kong-exclusive AWA merchandise is available, including stickers, postcards, pet tags, embroidered patches, and other nostalgic keepsakes. Visitors can also participate in an interactive element by collecting stamps in their “AWA Passport” throughout the exhibition, which can be redeemed for embroidered rewards.
