SJM co-hosts Tatler Asia’s Most Stylish gala dinner at the Grand Lisboa Palace
As night fell in Macau on February 19, the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau's opulent Jardim Secreto—with its perfectly manicured European-style evergreens and romantic gazebos—set the scene for a gala dinner celebrating Tatler Asia’s Most Stylish, an annual tribute to trailblazers who push fashion and style to the limits.
Hosted in partnership with SJM Resorts, S.A., the exclusive celebration of fashion saw the attendance of style vanguards and titans of industry. Alongside SJM’s managing director Daisy Ho, guests included Chinese singer-songwriter and Versace global ambassador Cai Xukun, who has seen a meteoric rise to stardom; plus members of the Tatler community, like Asia’s Most Stylish honouree Beatrice Ho, Columbia University student and girl-about-town Gillian Ho, Asia’s Most Influential honourees Victoria Tang-Owen, Eleanor Lam and Sabrina Fung, as well as Fiona McLeish. Tatler’s Asia’s Most Stylish honourees from across the region also showed up dressed to the nines, from Malaysian actress Eyka Farhana and Singapore-based designer Chi Loyzaga-Gibbs to Thai artist Pyra. Then there was also the style-forward power couple, multi-disciplinary artist Oscar Wang and model TianYi You.

VIP guests mingled with the resort’s ornate neo-classical and belle époque-inspired architecture, speckled with traditional Chinese motifs, then sat down to an enchanting candlelit dinner situated at the centre of the breathtaking European inspired garden. Dining tables, set with elegant white floral arrangements, quickly filled with enriching conversations about one’s love of style. A delectable four-course menu by the Grand Lisboa Palace’s chefs, featuring gravlax Alaska peony shrimp, morel mushroom soup, wagyu beef tenderloin with foie gras, miso cod fish and a Tahitian vanilla ice cream with a chocolate-vanilla shell, was served.

The starry night then hit new highs thanks to some captivating entertainment. Hong Kong Ballet performer Forrest Rain and dancer Jasmine Lam joined forces to put on an emotional contemporary performance. Arthur Bray, one-half of the music collective Yeti Out and also an Asia’s Most Stylish honouree, rounded off the soirée with an electrifying set.
As the intimate gala drew to a close, with guests winding down at the resort’s luxurious rooms, it was clear that the occasion became much more than a mere celebration of style. Rather, the night was a get-together of like minds, who are unafraid to express their unique attitudes and tastes to the world.
