GLBALink | Chengdu: Where Tradition and Trend Collide in the World of Sports

Located in southwestern China, Chengdu has long maintained its economic vitality and cultural prosperity through openness and inclusiveness.

From Aug. 7 to 17, Chengdu 2025 World Games, themed "Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders", is not only a grand celebration of sport but also a platform for intercultural dialogue. This follows the city's successful hosting of the 31st FISU World University Games in 2023.

Since November 2024, Chengdu has launched various community programs to promote The World Games and encourage local participation. Sports like flying disc and archery have been introduced in residential areas.

Through sports as a bridge, Chengdu extends an invitation to the world: stroll through its streets and experience the youthful vitality here.

24-year-old Min Pengfei was born in Ya'an of Sichuan, a city renowned for its tea and tea culture. He has involved in tea picking and processing with his family since his childhood. At university, he started to learn the technique of serving tea with a long spout kettle. Currently, as a municipal-level inheritor of the technique, Min has endeavored to demonstrate and pass down the tea art that integrates martial arts and dance.

Born in southwest China's Guizhou Province, Wu Qingwen has currently settled down in Chengdu as a visual designer. Being a sports enthusiast as well, she engages and challenges herself in various activities including swimming, tennis and sport climbing in her daily life. In addition, she has achieved to integrate sports with her professional expertise to design and produce innovative cultural and creative products.
