英媒《獨立報》報導，根據網路流傳的影片，川普當時踉蹌一下，眼急手快抓住扶手，但面露驚恐慌張的表情還是被記錄下來。

據了解，本月將滿79歲的川普，過去常嘲笑現年82歲的前總統拜登（Joe Biden）走路跌倒，包括2023年夏天，川普曾嘲諷拜登在科羅拉多州空軍官校畢業典禮上跌倒一事。川普表示，對於畢業生而言，看到時任總統絆倒在沙袋上「一點都不激勵人心」。
川普當時在愛荷華州的一場競選活動中說，「我希望他沒有受傷，我希望他真的沒受傷⋯你可不希望發生那種事」。
