A look inside Wild Cherry, A24's restaurant inside Cherry Lane Theatre
Wild Cherry, A24’s first-ever restaurant, opened in the historic Cherry Lane Theatre in New York’s West Village in October 2025. The 45-seat dining space sits behind the theatre’s stage area—a deliberate choice melding cinema and cuisine under the banner of the independent studio. What’s an entertainment company, responsible for horror masterpieces such as Everything Everywhere All at Once and Hereditary, doing in the dining scene? Serving, as always.

The Wild Cherry restaurant features a moody, intimate aesthetic by designer Zeb Stewart, with dark green banquettes, limewashed walls, retro elements, such as chequerboard floors and funfair bulbs, and a 12-seat horseshoe bar creating a quietly expressive environment. It channels a supper club vibe suited for theatre-goers and locals alike, emphasising community bonding over a shared love for film and food.
What's on the menu?

Wild Cherry’s culinary programme is overseen by chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr, who are known for Frenchette and Le Veau d’Or in New York. Its menu balances seafood starters such as oysters, tuna crudo and Bang’s Island mussels with heartier offerings, including a lobster club sandwich, roasted monkfish kebab and a cheeseburger developed by the same chefs who created the famed Minetta Tavern Black Label burger. Larger plates include a steak dinner for two served with a baked potato and green salad, while desserts such as coconut cake provide a gentle finish. The drink selection complements the food with classic cocktails, natural wines and the signature shared Scorpion Bowl served in vintage Murano glass.

As part of A24’s wider project since acquiring the 100-year-old theatre space in 2023, Wild Cherry also functions as a cultural hub. It hosts occasional film screenings, celebrity Q&As and events that intertwine cinema with dining, continuing the studio’s reputation for cultivating creative and immersive experiences. While its design and location position it as a film lover’s venue, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
Wild Cherry fits well within the West Village dining options, combining the area’s film history with straightforward, well-executed food. It offers a relaxed atmosphere, allowing the design and menu to speak for themselves.
