Bangkok doesn’t need another food festival. What it does need, and what Tatler Best Takeovers delivers, is a reason for the region’s sharpest minds to cook, create and collaborate.

From October 17 to 25, a series of 29 culinary and cocktail events unfold across the city. This isn't about star-chasing or menu-swapping, it's about what happens when cuisines and cultures cross, when a Thai royal kitchen meets a French atelier, or a Taiwanese bartender rewires the idea of a drink.

Presented by Tatler Asia in partnership with Mastercard and Priceless, this year’s Tatler Best Bangkok Takeovers read like a snapshot of dining now: global in outlook, personal in style, precise in execution.

Dining collaborations

From royal Thai refinement to wood-fired innovation, each collaboration at Tatler Best Takeovers Bangkok 2025 tells a story of technique, heritage and imagination shared across the table

The series opens on October 17 and 18 at Maa-Lai Library, where Oku and R-Haan set the tone. Andy Huynh and Chumpol Jangprai find harmony between modern Japanese-French precision and the grandeur of royal Thai cuisine, to kick off the week.

Momentum builds on October 23, when Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok hosts two ambitious collaborations in tandem. Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin, Born and Kindling unites Henrik Yde-Andersen, Chayawee Sutcharitchan, Zor Tan and Vallian Gunawan for an eight-hands journey through Thai, Singaporean and Indonesian sensibilities. On the same day, and at the same address, Alati, Somma and Locavore Nxt stages a six-hands lunch and dinner celebrating fire, flair and sustainability.

Also on October 23, Hide and Gallery by Chele transforms Maa-Lai Library into a creative crossroads between Kuala Lumpur and Manila; while at Sindhorn Kempinski, Bistrot de la Mer and Qu Lang Yuan from Beijing blend Mediterranean ease and Chinese modernity across two nights on October 23–24.

Elsewhere, Silks House takes over The Consul from October 23 to 24, with chef Max Wo reimagining Cantonese refinement inside Bangkok’s most discreet dining room. Signature Bangkok, Mosu Hong Kong and Giwakang from Seoul, at Vie Hotel Bangkok, takes place on October 23–24, bringing together Thierry Drapeau, Bruno Jeong and Kang Min-chul for a six-hands tasting of French-Korean dialogue.

Then, on October 24, Ms Jigger and Akame deliver Italian soul and Taiwanese fire in two sittings at Maa-Lai Library, while on October 25, Mesa by José Avillez and Mesa Bar close the dining chapter, with Herlander Fernandes and Frederick Ma blending Portuguese creativity with world-class mixology in rhythm and restraint.

Afternoon tea interlude

Between the dinners comes an elegant pause. On October 23 and 24, The Butterfly Room and The Lobby Lounge at Sindhorn Kempinski turn afternoon tea into a couture performance. Jonathan Soukdeo, Tatler Best Pastry Chef 2025 in Hong Kong, and Simon Eberhardt build a menu of exquisite desserts and delectable savouries, a study in proportion and poise that proves indulgence needn’t be loud.

Cocktail collaborations

In the evenings, the city comes alive as award-winning bars from Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Singapore take over Bangkok’s most coveted lounges, turning mixology into performance

As day gives way to night, the tempo shifts from kitchen to bar.

It begins on October 20 at Canton Disco, where Andrew Bull, founder of the original 1980s Hong Kong icon, returns to the decks for two evenings of nostalgia and reinvention. He’s joined first by Seoul’s Le Chamber (Louis Eom) and later by Alice Cheongdam (Mason Park), two Tatler Best award-winners rewriting disco’s golden glow for a new generation.

From October 23, the baton passes across the city. At The Consul, Alice Cheongdam, Quinary, Jigger & Pony, and The Diplomat take turns behind the bar: Antonio Lai’s molecular theatre, John Nugent’s old-world polish, Jigger & Pony’s warmth and balance.

Meanwhile, Canton Disco keeps the beat with back-to-back collaborations: The Diplomat and Andrew Bull tracing the evolution of Asia’s cocktail scene, followed by Under Lab from Taiwan and Andrew Bull, where Pei Liu’s molecular experiments meet Bull’s analogue nostalgia.

At Sindhorn Kempinski’s Firefly Bar, the takeovers run late into the night: Jigger & Pony and Le Chamber on October 23, Quinary and Under Lab on October 24, four distinct philosophies, each turning hospitality into performance.

Why you’ll want to be there

Tatler Best Takeovers isn’t just another dining series; it’s the week when some of the world’s most interesting chefs and bartenders share a city, a service, and a state of mind. Each collaboration is unique. There are no reruns, no residencies, no second chances.
