Bhumjaithai needs nine more votes for its no-confidence motion against PM
The opposition Bhumjaithai party is still nine votes short of the 99 needed to second its no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Paradorn Prissananantakul, former deputy House Speaker and a Bhumjaithai MP, said today that only Palang Pracharath, which has 19 votes, is currently supporting the party’s censure motion.
He said that Bhumjaithai is, however, due to hold discussions with other opposition parties, the People’s party in particular, and seek their support for the motion.
The People’s party is yet to decide whether it will join the no-confidence debate.
The Bhumjaithai party wants to grill the prime minister over the content of the leaked phone call between her and Cambodian Senate Speaker Hun Sen.
