Debt settlement event this Friday and Saturday at government complex
The Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with financial institutions and commercial banks, will hold a two-day debt settlement event at the Chaeng Wattana government complex this Friday and Saturday, to help Student Loan Fund, credit cards, car leasing, personal loans and farm debtors settle debts in a fair manner.
Sasikarn Watthanachan, deputy spokesperson for the PM’s Office, said today that the event will offer an opportunity to all debtors to resolve their problems with their creditors, so that they can pursue a normal life.
Citing statistics of debt settlement through legal execution proceedings, she disclosed that more than 29,260 cases, with debts totalling 1.6 billion baht, were settled between last October and July this year, a clear indication that this legal process offers a tangible solution to the debt problem.
Regarding informal debt, Sasikarn said the government places importance on this problem and has been trying to turn informal into formal debt, to help both the debtors and creditors.
Additional information on the event is available by calling 1111 to contact the Department of Legal Execution.
