Paetongtarn will not attend Constitutional Court verdict reading this Friday
Suspended Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will not be present in the Constitutional Court this Friday, when it is scheduled to deliver its ruling in the case concerning her telephone conversation with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen, Somkid Chuekong, deputy secretary-general for political affairs of the prime minister, disclosed today.
Instead, he said the Paetongtarn, who is currently suspended from performing her prime ministerial duties by the court, will join the Cabinet and Pheu Thai MPs at Government House to follow the reading of the verdict.
Somkid also said that someone will be assigned to represent her in court.
Asked what will happen if she is ousted as prime minister by the court, the deputy secretary-general said that the Pheu Thai party will nominate another candidate, Chaikasem Nitisiri, as the next prime minister, adding that the coalition parties will remain together in government.
