Light rain continues to fall, leaving the village covered in debris and mud. Seven homes were completely destroyed and buried in the mudม while over 100 others sustained partial damage.
Military and rescue teams are on the ground searching for the missing. They have requested heavy machinery, including excavators, to assist in the difficult search through the wreckage and thick mud. Meanwhile, many residents are beginning to survey their damaged homes.
Nattawat and Juthamas, a couple from Ban Pang Ung, are among those assessing the damage. Their house was swept away by the landslide, and they described how they have lived in the community for over 30 years and have never seen a landslide before.
Fortunately, all ten family members were away for work or school when the disaster struck. They are safe, but the couple feels hopeless and drained after seeing their home completely gone. The wife, who has battled depression for years, was so shocked she nearly fainted as all their belongings and decades of hard-earned savings were gone in a single night. -819 (TNA)
