The meeting, co-chaired with his Cambodian counterpart, Lieutenant General Pov Heng, resulted in an 11-point agreement designed to de-escalate tensions and maintain peace. Both nations affirmed their commitment to a strict ceasefire and the peaceful resolution of all issues.
The agreement outlines several key measures to ensure stability. Both sides pledged to strictly adhere to the ceasefire conditions and avoid any actions that could escalate the conflict, including provocative military or civilian activities. They also committed to regular communication at all levels to build trust and resolve disputes without force. A crucial point addresses information integrity, with both sides promising to refrain from spreading false information or fake news that could inflame public sentiment.
Beyond conflict resolution, the agreement highlights cooperation on other critical issues. Both nations will work together to combat transnational crime, specifically targeting call center scams, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. They also agreed to propose humanitarian demining efforts for discussion at a future General Border Committee (GBC) meeting.
To improve coordination, a Coordinating Group (CG) will be established, and in the interim, local commanders will meet weekly to address any immediate issues. The next RBC meeting is scheduled to be held in Cambodia within one month. -819 (TNA)
