英國軍火掮客涉與利比亞和蘇丹飛彈、戰鬥機交易遭判刑16年

68歲的大衛・格林哈爾（David Greenhalgh）6月被判10項涉及未經許可供應武器罪名成立；這些武器還包括AK-47步槍、戰車，以及數十萬發彈藥，相關行為發生於2009年至2016年間。David Greenhalgh, 68, was convicted in June of 10 counts of involvement in the unlicensed supply of arms, also including AK-47 rifles, battle tanks and hundreds of thousands of rounds of ammunition, between 2009 and 2016.

48歲希臘籍男子克里斯托斯・法馬基斯（Christos Farmakis）被判9項罪名成立，不過他是在缺席情況下受審，目前下落不明。Greek national Christos Farmakis, 48, was convicted of nine offences, though he was tried in his absence and his current whereabouts is unknown.

法官薩莉-安・黑爾斯（Sally-Ann Hales）判處兩人16年有期徒刑，並表示兩人一再試圖違反武器出口禁令，以出售武器牟取高額利潤。Judge Sally-Ann Hales sentenced both men to 16 years' imprisonment, saying they repeatedly sought to breach arms export bans to sell weaponry for significant profits.

檢方表示，只有一項指控涉及實際供應武器，也就是兩人向南蘇丹出售一套前烏克蘭S-125「伯朝拉」飛彈系統；格林哈爾和法馬基斯在南蘇丹與「高層人士關係非常密切」。Prosecutors said only one charge involved the actual supply of weaponry, with the pair selling a former Ukrainian S-125 Pechora missile system to South Sudan, where Greenhalgh and Farmakis had "very close connections to senior figures".

檢察官艾德蒙・伯奇（Edmund Burge）在薩瑟克刑事法院告訴陪審員，南蘇丹在2011年獨立前，形式上仍是蘇丹的一部分，這意味著這個半自治地區受英國武器禁運限制。South Sudan was still formally part of Sudan until it achieved independence in 2011, prosecutor Edmund Burge told jurors at Southwark Crown Court, meaning the semi-autonomous region was subject to a British arms embargo.

格林哈爾和法馬基斯也曾安排向伊朗、伊拉克和敘利亞供應武器，違反武器禁運；之後法馬基斯於2016年遭逮捕。Greenhalgh and Farmakis also arranged to supply weapons to Iran, Iraq and Syria in breach of arms embargoes, before Farmakis was arrested in 2016.
