Such is the name of Roca’s new bathroom range, a collaboration between the Spanish sanitary product manufacturer and international studios Noa Design and Benedito Design. As befit the gentle ebb and flow of ocean waves, the Ona collection goes out of its way to imbue modern bathrooms with organic shapes, pure lines, natural materials and colours.

Why the Mediterranean you may ask? Roca first started out manufacturing cast iron radiators in Barcelona over a century ago, and the luxury bathroom fitting brand has since expanded out of its hometown, offering expertly engineered, beautiful appliances to customers worldwide by way of Spain, with far-flung footprints ranging from South America and Europe to Asia.

Consider the Ona Collection as the brand going back to their native in the Mediterranean, matching ultimate hygiene with innovative technology and gorgeous designs. It includes all the necessities to fit out the lavatory in any residential or commercial space: basins, furniture, faucets, complements, baths, toilets and bidets. Roca approaches this with the design from the get go. The Ona toilet, for instance, is free of any angle or nook. What’s more, the Roca-exclusive Supraglaze® enamel waterproofs the toilet, protecting it against grime, helping water swirling and enabling easy cleaning. The integrated touchless features mean that users can control the flushing, faucets, and soap dispensers without direct contact with the gadgets.

Conscious of the role it plays in preserving the natural planet, environmental sustainability and energy savings are firmly ingrained into Roca’s DNA. In the Ona collection, the reduced 4.5/3L flush and faucets incorporate the Cold Start system and 5L/min flow limiters to save up water use. The same consciousness is part of the manufacturing process too: the patented Fineceramic® technology produces lighter basins that eventually limit the carbon footprint.
