According to the report from the 2nd Army Area Operations Center, the Royal Thai Army, the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border can be summarized as follows:
Overall Situation: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were detected inside Thailand’s interior in Surin, Buri Ram, Ubon Ratchathani, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Roi Et Provinces, totaling 94 drones. Along the border in five areas, between 25 and 30 drones entered Thai sovereign airspace.
Cambodian soldiers were also observed attempting to cling to and cross over concertina wire near Thai positions but were repelled in accordance with the rules of engagement and withdrew. No clashes are currently taking place. Thai forces remain deployed, on standby, and are closely monitoring the situation.
For area clearance operations, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams have been deployed to inspect and destroy remaining unexploded ordnance. A total of 269 areas have been inspected, 43 areas are awaiting inspection, and 9 areas are pending destruction. The public is strongly urged to immediately report any suspicious objects to local authorities for prompt investigation.
Today (14 August 2025), the Army Spokesperson stated that the Thai side calls on Cambodia to strictly comply with the ceasefire agreement, particularly to cease the use of anti-personnel landmines against Thai forces, to stop disseminating distorted information, and to refrain from reinforcing military forces along the border. The spokesperson reiterated that the treatment of the 18 prisoners of war is in accordance with international law and humanitarian principles, and that the ICRC has already conducted a visit. Cambodia is therefore urged to strictly observe international law.
