The investigation stems from an audio clip purportedly featuring discussions between Paetongtarn and Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen regarding border disputes.
The NACC’s decision, made today follows a complaint alleging that Paetongtarn violated ethical standards. NACC Chairman Suchart Trakulkasemsook and NACC Commissioner Prapas Kongied will be part of the investigation panel.
The complaint was initiated by Senate President Mongkol Surasajja. It follows a letter from a group of senators on June 19, requesting that the Senate President forward accusations against Prime Minister Paetongtarn to the NACC.
The senators seek an investigation into whether she abused power in violation of the constitution or seriously breached ethical standards. – 819 (TNA)
