Sicilian arrival
The new a la carte menu
Sicilian chef Luca Schiavone
Wan Chai’s elegant Italian destination, Casa Sophia Loren, enters a fresh chapter with the arrival of new executive chef Luca Schiavone. Hailing from Sicily, Schiavone brings over a decade of experience from top London establishments, including the Zafferano and Cecconi’s Mayfair. His new a la carte menu champions the vibrant, fresh flavours of Southern Italy, focusing on simplicity and prime ingredients. Expect dishes such as merluzzo, a classic Sicilian potato salad, seafood purple potato gnocchi and spaghetto carrettiera, a cherished recipe from Schiavone’s mother. Complementing the new savoury creations is a brand-new cake trolley, offering a delightful choice of classic Italian cakes. Think lemon tart, apple pie and carrot cake, served with artisanal ice cream.
