A new constellation: Galaxy Macau and StarWorld Hotel restaurants awarded five Michelin stars in 2025 Guide
Macau has long been a playground for gourmands, and this year, Galaxy Macau and StarWorld Hotel are lighting up the dining scene like never before. In the 17th edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2025, the integrated resort clinched a total of five stars across four restaurants—a feat that places it firmly at the centre of the city’s gastronomic conversation.
Among the highlights is Sushi Kissho by Miyakawa, which made a starry debut by earning a Michelin star in its first year. The first international venture from Japan’s sushi grandmaster Masaaki Miyakawa, this restaurant brings the art of edomae to Macau with remarkable restraint and rigour. Executive chef Hironori Satake leads the kitchen with deft hands, serving a seasonal omakase that captures wabi-sabi minimalism at its most elegant. Each piece is a quiet study in balance, made with ingredients flown in from Japan through Miyakawa’s long-held relationships with artisans, growers and fishermen. From April 4 to 6, Miyakawa himself will take the helm for a three-night dinner series that’s likely to draw aficionados from across the region.

At Feng Wei Ju in StarWorld Hotel, the flame still burns bright. Retaining two Michelin stars for the ninth consecutive year, the Hunan and Sichuan restaurant is a masterclass in boldness and balance. Executive chef Chan Chek-keong and his team wield spice with precision, leaning into traditional techniques while refusing to play it safe. A celebratory tasting menu captures the restaurant’s greatest hits—a riot of aroma, heat and nuance that speaks of deep-rooted craft.

Over at Galaxy Macau, 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana continues its decade-long one-Michelin-star streak, now under the guidance of executive chef Marino D’Antonio. His arrival signals a new chapter for the Italian fine dining stalwart, as he reimagines the restaurant’s classical foundations with contemporary verve. Dishes such as veal and ham agnolotti in broth or langoustine with sea urchin and caviar strike a confident balance between tradition and flair. A new lunch menu served on Fridays and Saturdays offers a lighter but no less luxurious experience.

Finally, Lai Heen, perched on the 51st floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, extends its one-Michelin-star tenure to a ninth year. Executive chef Jackie Ho brings over four decades of Cantonese culinary knowledge to the fore, shaping dishes that marry meticulous technique with genuine warmth. With sweeping views of the Cotai skyline and a menu grounded in refinement, Lai Heen continues to set the tone for high-end Cantonese dining in the city.

Beyond its starred offerings, Galaxy Macau is also home to three Michelin Selected restaurants: Terrazza Italian Restaurant, known for rustic Italian charm; The Ritz-Carlton Café, a French brasserie with polish; and Saffron, where Thai flavours are reimagined with a contemporary touch.
Across more than 120 dining options, Galaxy Macau’s diverse culinary offerings cultivate a dining culture rooted in craft and creativity. In a city where luxury often courts excess, it’s refreshing to find a destination that allows substance to shine. The stars may grab the headlines, but it’s the dedication behind the scenes that makes Galaxy Macau’s constellation worth following.
