The Steak House at Regent Hong Kong presents ‘Argentine Asado’, a reimagining of fire and feast

This August, The Steak House at Regent Hong Kong turns up the heat with a fiery international collaboration that unites two masters of the grill. From August 21 to 23, the Michelin Guide-recommended venue, also ranked No 80 on the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants 2025, welcomes Sebastián Cardamoni of Fogón Asado, Buenos Aires (No 35 on the same list), for a three-night celebration of open-fire cooking.

The four-hands dinner sees Cardamoni join forces with resident head chef Amine Errkhis for a five-course menu (HK$1,980 per person; minimum two guests) that pays homage to Argentine grilling traditions with a refined, global twist. Expect impeccably sourced beef, bold, smoke-kissed flavours and a menu where every cut is coaxed to tell its story over flame.

Each evening features wine pairings from a different heavyweight of Argentine viticulture: Zuccardi, Catena Zapata and Viña Cobos, offering guests a nightly change of pace to match the ember-lit drama on the plate.

As Cardamoni puts it: “Every cut of meat can tell a story if you listen to it over the fire.” In the hands of these two chefs, the tale promises to be rich, robust and utterly compelling.

For three nights only, The Steak House at Regent Hong Kong invites diners to experience the soul of Argentina. From August 21 to 23, the restaurant joins forces with Buenos Aires’ Fogón Asado for The Fire Within, a five-course tasting menu that honours the primal elegance of the Argentine asado.

At the heart of this collaboration is the celebrated beef of the Pampas, ethically grass-fed, richly marbled, and revered for its depth of flavour. Certified Argentine cuts, including slow-grilled ribeye and tender entraña (skirt steak), are prepared using time-honoured open-fire techniques that speak to generations of grill mastery.

But this is no purist’s barbecue. The menu, a collaboration between chefs Amine Errkhis and Sebastián Cardamoni, deftly blends fire-driven tradition with modern culinary flair. Expect dishes like Mayura rump tartare topped with Oscietra caviar, a pine cone–smoked ribeye cap, and a show-stopping main featuring Korea Hanwoo 1++ striploin alongside premium Argentinian ribeye. Elegant sides including charred broccolini, mashed boniatos, and a dulce de leche–filled pancake bring balance and indulgence in equal measure.
