Paris Fashion Week: Inside Roger Vivier’s autumn-winter 2025 presentation, which put roses front and centre
Roger Vivier isn’t known as the “Fabergé of footwear” for no reason. From the invention of the stiletto heel to the brand’s signature buckle detail, the late, great designer cemented a legacy in both innovative and artful designs that date back to 1937.
Fast forward to today, at Roger Vivier’s Paris Fashion Week autumn-winter 2025 presentations, named La Rose Vivier, which took place on March 7, the brand’s creative director Gherardo Felloni highlighted another key motif in the Vivier universe: the rose.
Vivier first integrated the flower into his sculptural accessories in the 1940s. The rose also appeared as a key decorative element in a series of women’s hats that the French designer created with acclaimed milliner Suzanne Rémy.
In Paris, the show welcomed a star-studded guest list that included South Korean stars Yeji from the K-pop girl group ITZY and Shin Saekyeong, as well as British actress Gwendoline Christie.
Here, Tatler takes a look back at the show and how Felloni put a contemporary spin on Roger Vivier’s legacy.

Roger Vivier has a track record for attracting trailblazing women and superstars alike as fans, from Queen Elizabeth II and Elizabeth Taylor to Anne Hathaway, Fan Bing Bing and Jennifer Lawrence.
Along with Yeji, Shin Saekyeong, and Gwendoline Christie, Olivia Colman and Catherine Deneuve were also in attendance at the brand’s Paris Fashion Week autumn-winter 2025 showcase.

For Roger Vivier’s autumn-winter 2025 collections, Fellini’s roses took the form of sculpted metal buds, twisted leather knots and spiralling organza strips.
These floral elements were sprinkled across mules, pumps, sandals and ballerina flats, as well as seasonal offerings of hats, jewellery and handbags. The satin, square-toed shoes are adorned with metal roses with delicate layers of spiralling petals. The decorative element is created with the lost-wax casting method, which sees a duplicate sculpture cast from an original sculpture. The method renders the metal roses lighter than their previous iterations. The metal rose also adorns the season’s satin clutch, which has a geometric silhouette and retractable golden circular handle with faux thorns.
Echoing the diverse colour varieties of the rose, the collection is available in pink as well as bold shades of orange, purple and green.
A ballet performance—with tributes to roses
At the presentations, under dim chandelier lighting, the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet put on a show, with the dance choreographed by Yvon Demol. The performance was inspired by the unfurling of petals. Rose motifs also decorated the interiors of the space, from lush carpets to opulent floral arrangements.
