Shang Palace presents timeless tradition and modern craft in rice dumplings
This Dragon Boat Festival, Michelin-starred Shang Palace at Kowloon Shangri-La honours tradition with a refined selection of handcrafted rice dumplings, each one a tribute to Cantonese heritage and culinary craftsmanship. Wrapped in lotus leaves and steeped in symbolism, these delicacies bring together the flavours of land and sea in celebration of the season.
Leading the festive offering is chef Gordon Leung, corporate Chinese chef (Hong Kong) of the Shangri-La Group, alongside the acclaimed Shang Palace culinary team. At the heart of the collection is the signature Shang Palace sticky rice dumpling (HK$378), generously filled with abalone, dried scallop, roasted pork, and salted egg yolk. Rich in texture and umami, it’s a modern expression of a centuries-old tradition, thoughtfully composed and unmistakably Cantonese.
Available for a limited time, this year’s dumplings blend time-honoured technique with elevated ingredients, inviting guests to savour the spirit of the festival in every bite.
