Embrace summer’s optimism with Harry Winston’s latest Premier Sunflower jewellery and watch collection
Flowers will never go out of style—especially if they’re immortalised in gemstones and set to sparkle long after the last petal has fallen. Among Harry Winston’s botanical treasures, Tatler explores the Sunflower watch and jewellery collections, an irresistible invitation to embrace summer’s optimism.
First appearing in archival sketches dating back to the 1950s, the sunflower motif follows a renowned Harry Winston design aesthetic: marrying nature’s beauty with the world’s most exquisite diamonds.
The Sunflower line includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings designed for versatile wear—from desk to date. Recent iterations have introduced more delicate proportions and expanded the range to include pendants and earrings. To create this motif, the maison uses a round brilliant-cut diamond to take centre stage outlined by eight smaller diamonds.

The collection’s Yellow Diamond Sunflower Necklace deserves a special mention. It radiates with round brilliant yellow diamonds, each in turn surrounded by round brilliant white diamonds. Set gracefully in 18-karat yellow gold and platinum, the necklace drapes the neckline like a burst of sunlight, albeit one created from precious gems. This piece embodies Harry Winston’s mastery of precious stones, transforming the classic sunflower motif into a wearable piece of art.

The collection also extends beyond high jewellery to timepieces, such as the Premier Sunflower wristwatch, which incorporates diamond-set floral diamond motifs on its dial. The mother of pearl dial—available in two new colours, pink and green—is luminous, playful and just the right amount of whimsical.
But the real magic lies in the details: each dial is adorned with diamond and gemstone floral motifs. Of course, this is Harry Winston, so craftsmanship is a given. The case is polished to perfection and the movement precise, yet the effect is anything but clinical. It’s the sort of watch that pairs as well with a crisp linen suit at the office as it does with a sun-dappled garden-party dress. The floral motif is a classic Harry Winston signature, yet the mother of pearl speaks directly to today’s appetite for individuality and colour.
What is particularly striking about the collection is how it honours the house’s storied heritage while feeling thoroughly of-themoment. Harry Winston’s reverence for nature is nothing new—the archives are littered with sketches of blooms and bouquets— but these pieces are far from dusty homages. Instead, they offer a fresh, contemporary take on floral motifs, using colour and form to challenge the notion that high jewellery must be only staid or ostentatious.
After all, true luxury isn’t just about what catches the eye, but what stays with you, season after season, bloom after bloom.
