靠著「字母哥」Giannis Antetokounmpo撐場，近年公鹿一直是NBA季後賽常客，而Antetokounmpo也曾表示，希望「從一而終」在密爾瓦基為自己的球員生涯劃下句點，但隨著公鹿連續3年季後賽一輪遊，「字母哥」的心意似乎開始動搖。

美國媒體透露，Antetokounmpo曾表示，若無法在職業生涯奪下第2座總冠軍，將會對自己相當失望，而目前公鹿與「字母哥」的合約還剩3年，最後一年則是球員選擇權。攤開最近3個賽季的數據，Antetokounmpo雖連續3年繳出30+分、10+籃板、5+助攻的全方位成績單，公鹿卻連續3年在季後賽首輪止步，不免令Antetokounmpo開始思考未來的路。

已有美國媒體提前為「字母哥」安排後路，貼出他改穿火箭、熱火、勇士、馬刺及暴龍等不同球衣的自製圖片，不過，這都只是臆測階段，畢竟，Antetokounmpo可說是公鹿史上最具代表性的球員之一，他只要再完成82次抄截，就能夠成為繼「前狼王」Kevin Garnett之後，NBA史上第2位一人獨佔隊史得分、籃板、助攻、阻攻及抄截數據王座的球員。
