76人兩大球星Joel Embiid與Paul George因傷所苦，美國媒體報導，George不但可能缺席季前訓練營，甚至可能錯過熱身賽，而Embiid的傷勢則是可能比預期更嚴重，令2024-25賽季錯過季後賽的費城再度蒙上陰影。

2024-25賽季，Embiid雖繳出平均每戰23.8分、8.2籃板、4.5助攻成績單，George也有平均每場比賽16.2分、5.3籃板、4.3助攻的攻守表現，但兩人總計缺席了104場例行賽，導致76人最終僅拿下24勝58負戰績，無緣搭上季後賽列車，更慘的是「EG雙星」年薪高達1.07億美元，這對76人球團而言無疑是沈重的負擔。
George在2024-25賽季一路帶傷拚戰，先後遭遇腹股溝、手指及膝蓋傷病，今年季外階段，更是屋漏偏逢連夜雨，接受了左膝關節鏡手術，美國媒體報導指出，即便現今言之過早，但George恐將缺席季前訓練營與熱身賽。另外，報導也透露，76人球團淡化了Embiid的膝傷狀況，因為聯盟內部對此並不樂觀。
