Incident Report on the Thai-Cambodian Border Clashes 10 August 2025
According to the report from the 2nd Army Area Operations Center, the Royal Thai Army, the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border can be summarized as follows:
Overall Situation The situation has continued to ease following the General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting. The Thai side remains committed to de-escalating tensions and maintaining peace and order in the area, while continuing to perform its duties in safeguarding national sovereignty to the fullest extent.
Evacuee Management Several areas are now safe enough for residents to return to their homes under the supervision of provincial governors, in coordination with local security agencies.
Some areas remain contaminated with landmines or suspicious objects. Clearance and disposal operations are ongoing to ensure maximum safety.
The 2nd Army Area calls upon the public to report any unsafe areas or suspicious objects to local administrative officials or the police via Hotline 191, so that Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams can investigate, recover, or destroy them. The public is advised to avoid such areas until safety is officially confirmed.
RTA Spokesperson stated that on 10 August 2025, Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence requested Thailand to repatriate 18 Cambodian soldiers, claiming they were unlawfully detained after the ceasefire on 29 July 2025. The Thai side affirmed that the detention is in full compliance with Thai law and international humanitarian principles, particularly the Geneva Conventions.
Thailand remains open for relevant international organizations to conduct visits; on 5 August 2025, representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) inspected the detainees. Detention will continue until the ceasefire situation stabilizes to prevent a return to hostilities. The Thai side further noted that Cambodia should also prioritize other key matters under the ceasefire agreement.
Between 1–9 August 2025, the Thailand Mine Action Centre (TMAC), with 15 operational teams, in coordination with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units, supported the Suranaree Task Force and Provincial Police Region 3 in clearing ordnance from Cambodian attacks in four border provinces. A total of 384 items were recovered, including BM-21 rockets, artillery shells, mortar rounds, and other explosives, as follows:

- Si Sa Ket – 70 items (30 × BM-21 rockets, 45 artillery shells)
