舊金山巨人台灣投手鄧愷威今（9日）中繼5局僅被敲3安打，飆出4K無失分，助隊以5比0完封國民，賽後，巨人官方社群平台X不僅發圖恭喜他拿下大聯盟生涯首勝，也分享了鄧愷威接受紀念禮物的照片。
26歲的鄧愷威是繼王維中後，相隔近6年再度有台灣投手在大聯盟奪勝，鄧愷威受訪時也特別感謝爸爸過去18年來一路的支持，讓他在父親節這天奪勝更具意義，「無論我做什麼，只要和棒球有關，他總是在我身邊……我想對爸爸說我愛他」。

而巨人總教練馬文（Bob Melvin）也稱讚鄧愷威這一戰好球更多，且能充分利用速球來搭配曲球，使曲球展現威力，變化球也很好，整體更具有效率，馬文表示鄧愷威一上來就能馬上進入狀態投出好球，真的表現很好，尤其5局的關鍵雙殺讓人印象深刻。
“He's throwing more strikes, and he's using his fastball enough to get off his break and stuff. His breaking stuff is really good. So for me, it's just being a lot more efficient throwing the ball over to play more.”
