川普聯手金主自掏腰包砸60億 蓋白宮奢華宴會廳9月動工
白宮發言人李威特（Karoline Leavitt）7月31日表示，美國總統川普正著手推動白宮的翻修工程，並計劃在白宮興建宴會廳。
法新社報導，李威特（Karoline Leavitt）指出，宴會廳2億美元（約新台幣60億元）的建設費用，將由川普本人與未具名捐款人共同出資。
李威特說：「150年來，歷任總統、政府官員與白宮工作人員一直期盼，能在白宮園區內擁有一個大型活動空間。」

李威特說，這座可容納650人的宴會廳預計在9月動工，並於川普本屆任期內完工。

建造宴會廳是為了舉辦接待來訪各國領袖的重要活動，目前這類活動有時只能在白宮草坪上搭設帳篷來解決。

根據美國政府公布的宴會廳模型，建築將為白色，設有柱廊，外觀仿照白宮主樓設計，並將取代通常作為美國第一夫人辦公空間的東廂。
